PENAKU.ID | Kab. Bandung — A French citizen, Michele (30), said he was very interested in Sundanese customs. Especially when talking and displaying various cultural arts.
One of the arts that has become his concern, he said, is the Jaipongan dance. In addition to the flexible movements, the accompaniment is very harmonious.
“I really like the dance, if only I had a long time, I would like to try to learn it,” he said when meeting at Sayati, Bandung Regency, Wednesday (14/10/2020).
Jaipongan is very flexible, he added, as if his movements were one with nature and full of authority for the dancers.
As a provision to return to France, he deliberately bought a DVD cassette of the Jaipongan dance as a provision to study at home later.
“Hopefully I can learn it properly. Because I really want to be able to dance jaipongan,” he said.
But he said, he really likes old songs from the Jugala Group, such as Daun Pulus Keser Bojong, Sinden Beken, Awet Rajet, Kidung, and other songs.
According to the plan, tomorrow Thursday (15/10/2020), he will return to Jakarta. Later that day, we will return to France. And he asked for news in English, because he had not mastered Indonesian to its full potential.
